Gina Marie Long
Hello! I’m Gina Marie Long (which is my maiden name that I go by online and my married name is Gina Boekhout). I’m sure you’d like to know a little about me before taking a leap into a coaching relationship!
I’ve been an entrepreneur all of my life… I owned a successful salon for 20 years, am a published author, knowledgeable about internet marketing, taken tons of courses pertaining to business, self-improvement, marketing, publishing, copywriting, and of course – fitness!
At this stage in my life, I’m focused on health and wellness coaching, running my own affiliate wellness products online business, and web writing for businesses in the health and wellness niche.
I’ve been a fitness fanatic since I was twelve (yes – I admit to exercising to a Jane Fonda album way back then…!). My living room looks like a gym, complete with a Bowflex, treadmill, weights, stability ball, resistance bands, workout DVDs… you name it!
I watch what I eat, create healthy menu plans and am quite the carb-counting queen – as my husband is a diabetic. I keep myself at a healthy weight, exercise faithfully, know the importance of sleep, and meditate to create a calm mental state. With the vast experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm I have in wellness, I became a Certified Health and Wellness Coach AND a Certified Holistic Nutritionist through AFPA (American Fitness Professionals and Associates). I’ve also taken a Lifestyle Weight Management Specialist course through NESTA (National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association). I’m also an affiliate with an online membership company offering wellness products (with other products on the way).
I know what it’s like to have excess pounds on your body and not be at an “ideal” weight. I was never considered heavy (in case anyone pops on here who literally KNOWS me – I don’t want them to scream, “You’ve never been overweight!”) but I have gone through times carrying around more weight than I needed for my body frame/size. And my husband gained quite a few pounds years ago, lost a chunk, gradually gained some of the weight back, and then diabetes decided to rear its ugly head… he was hospitalized for 10 days due to diabetes complications and a massive infection/amputation of a toe. Once we got him home – our lifestyle changed… a diabetic diet and medications (for him), increased the quantity of super healthy foods, exercise, better sleep patterns, etc. We BOTH lost weight and are healthier and happier now.
So, if you feel awkward or shy, that won’t last long around me. One-on-one conversations are something I excel at and I’ve never known a “stranger”. I can talk to a rock – and get it to respond! 🙂 I’m REAL, authentic, and I don’t bite!
If you have any further questions, just ask me. If you’d like to schedule a FREE Consultation, contact me! You can explain your current health/wellness goals or challenges. Then, we can determine which particular fitness and nutrition program matches your needs. I’m excited to hear from you!
